SSC CHSL Syllabus 2024: Every year around 30 to 35 lakh students fill out the application form in the Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination. In such a situation, it is impossible for those students who are not serious about preparing for the SSC CHSL exam to pass the exam. Notification of application form for Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination is released every year by the Staff Selection Commission.

SSC CHSL Selection Process 2024

SSC CHSL selection process is conducted in two stages. These two steps are as follows –

  • Tier-I Examination
  • Tier-II Examination

Note:

  • There is a negative marking in SSC CHSL exam and there is 50 marks for each wrong answer.
  • Questions asked in SSC CHSL Tier 1 examination will be objective type multiple choice type.
  • Question paper will be asked in 13 languages other than Hindi and English.
  • 60 minutes are given to solve the CHSL Tier 1 examination paper.

 

SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2024: Tier-II Examination

Session- I (2 hours and 15 minutes)

  • Module-II: Reasoning and General Intelligence (30 Ques./90 Marks)

  • Module-I: English Language and Comprehension (40 Ques./120 Marks)

Note:

  • SSC CHSL Skill Test/ Typing Test will be of qualifying nature.
  • Errors in the SSC CHSL Skill Test will be calculated up to 2 decimal places.
  • The ‘speed of 15000 (Fifteen Thousand) Key Depressions per hour on Computer‟ will be judged on the basis of the correct entry of words/ key depressions as per the given passage. 
  • The duration of the Test will be 15 (Fifteen) minutes and printed matter in English containing about 3700-4000 key-depressions would be given to each candidate who would enter the same in the Computer.
  • The medium of SSC CHSL Typing Test will be Hindi or English and for English medium typing speed of 35 words per minute (w.p.m.) and those opting for Hindi medium should have typing speed of 30 words per minute (w.p.m.). 35 w.p.m. and 30 w.p.m. correspond to about 10500 key depressions per hour and about 9000 key depressions per hour respectively.

What is the CHSL age limit?

To fill the application form for SSC CHSL exam, the age of the candidate should be between 18 to 27 years. Reserved category candidates are given relaxation in age limit. This relaxation is as follows –

  • Other Backward Class candidates are given age relaxation of 3
  • Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe category are given age relaxation of 5
  • 10 years relaxation in age limit is given to disabled candidates of general category.
  • Disabled candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes are given age relaxation of 13
  • Disabled candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe category are given age relaxation of 15
  • Ex-servicemen are given age relaxation of 3

What is salary of Chsl?

  • The pay scale of SSC CHSL Data Entry Operator ranges from Rs 5200 to Rs Grade pay is Rs 20400 and basic pay is Rs 25500. Apart from this, some allowances are given like 24% House Rent Allowance of Rs 6120, DA of Rs 9690, Travel Allowance of Rs 3600, thus the total salary of Data Entry Operator becomes Rs 39550 from which Rs 3000 is deducted. A data entry operator will get a first salary of Rs. 36555 in his bank account if he is posted in an Will get it.
  • The basic pay of the candidates recruited on SSC CHSL Junior Secretary Assistant and Lower Divisional Clerk is Rs 19900 and grade pay is Rs Along with this, the candidate is given House Rent Allowance of Rs 4776 and DA of Rs 7562. Travel allowance of Rs 3600 is given, which makes the total salary Rs 31659, from which a deduction of Rs 2500 is made. LDC and LSA candidates posted in X category city will get a salary of Rs 29159 in the first month. Does 12 marks matter in SSC CHSL?

No, 12th class marks do not matter in SSC CHSL exam. While filling the SSC CHSL form, the candidate has to fulfill the following criteria –

  • To fill the application form of SSC CHSL, the candidate must have passed 12th class.
  • Candidates age for SSC CHSL should be between 18 to 27 years however age relaxation will be given to reserved category.
  • Only those candidates can fill the SSC CHSL application form who are Indian citizens or subject of Nepal or subject of Bhutan or those people who are citizens of Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania( Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), they have been displaced from Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and settled in India.

 

Which SSC exam is easy?

SSC MTS: Among all the exams conducted by SSC, SSC MTS exam is the easiest to pass. For SSC MTS exam, the candidate should have passed 10th class only. In this, the candidate will have to pass only one written examination and those who will pass the written examination will be selected for the posts of Multi-Tasking Staff in various ministries of the Government of India.

In this, the candidate has to do tasks like maintaining files in the office and carrying files to different departments and handling documents. SSC MTS exam is conducted every year by SSC in which more than 40 lakh candidates fill the form and 22 to 23 lakh candidates appear in the exam.

 

What is the syllabus for SSC CHSL?

SSC CHSL exam is conducted in two stages, in the first stage there are 25 questions each from the subjects English Language, General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness and each question carries two marks. In this exam, 60 minutes are given to solve the question paper. All the candidates will have to solve the question paper in 60 minutes.

Objective type multiple choice questions are asked in the question paper and there is negative marking in this exam, 0.50 marks are deducted for each wrong answer.

After qualifying this exam, the candidate will have to appear in the second phase. There are total three sections in the second phase.
